Plastik Pop Cinema Releases Debut Album, "Today's Future Tomorrow"

Today’s Future Tomorrow is the debut album from Scott Brothers’ latest music project, Plastik Pop Cinema. The album moves from free jazz improvisation, to No Wave noise blasts, and deranged 80’s synth pop. Heavily influenced by German experimental music via bands like Neu! and Harmonia as well as Ennio Morricone’s ground breaking collective Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, Plastik Pop Cinema creates a schizophrenic musical experience.

The album opens with “Future-Proof Thrill Zones” a track that keeps building toward a shattering end via 808 drum machines and frenetic sequencers; “Vertical Horizons” is an ambient piece featuring a heavily delayed guitar that floats above a sea of keyboards; “Metaphysical Musik Corporation” (a nod to Fripp and Eno) is a psychotic marriage of surf punk and No Wave; the final, epic track, “Motorik Maude” is propelled by a relentless motorik beat.

Today’s Future Tomorrow is the sixth release in the Fading Machine series.
