Sounds

This is yesterday’s tomorrow. Modern kosmische musik, hauntology, musique concrète, library music and other lost audio research, pervade the landscape. These electronic sound experiments recall a half-remembered past and strangely familiar futures.

Scott records and designs under various musical aliases. You can find all of these releases on Soundcloud and YouTube.

Automatic Fields
(Between) the Detritus

The EP opens with the sprawling, haunted track Magnetic Daughters. Tracks like Symmetry of a Terminal Pose and Brief Lives of Intersecting Lines are marked by influences via experimental sound artists like Tim Hecker and Fennesz, while Vox-1 recalls Loveless era My Bloody Valentine.

Phase-Shifting Legs
Vernacular Anxiety

Vernacular Anxiety is the first release under this new moniker. Rhythm and melody are often at odds with one another. Traditional approaches to musique concrète and sound collage have been reinterpreted through synthesizers and modern electronics.

Neon Bubblegum
BETArituals

BETArituals is the first single from "Trance State Disasters" the new album by Neon Bubblegum. The single fuses modern kosmische musik with 80’s cinematic synth. Sequencers swirl beneath soaring solar synth pads creating memories of sounds and experiences that seem close at hand and engineered all at once. B/W Dada Shoes.

Neon Bubblegum
Trance State Disasters

Trance State Disasters is a meditation on memory; darkened arcades, VHS nights, Saturday morning marathons. Transmissions that span a detritus of sonic touchstones over the course of a lifetime. This is synth prog excess that reaches into the back of your mind.

FM010 Jacques in Analogue
Music For Chairs

For the 10th and final release in the Fading Machine series, we return to Scott’s original musical alias, Jacques in Analogue. Music For Chairs is a unnerving melding of drone and noise music. FM006 Plastik Pop Cinema
Today’s Future Tomorrow

FM005 Automatic Fields
The Mood Machine

Automatic Fields creates its own version of shoegaze music; dream pop enveloped by plunderphonics samples and sci-fi atmospheres. Slowly evolving melodies move under a sea of noise, constructing ever-shifting sound collages. A strange, unsettling vision of the future.

FM004 Our Spectral Sound System
Theme From The Dread of Lower Droop
